Be on a Committee

Committee Members Needed.  If you stand behind our Mission and our Guiding Principles please join a committee and do your part to further this important and very needed facility in our community.

Committee Members Roles and Responsibilities

Committee members have an important role and the success of the committee depends on the contributions made by each of its members.  The following are the expectations of the committee members.

  1. Commitment to the vision, mission and goals of HOTST
  2. Attend all committee meetings (meeting days and times will be determined by the chair after consulting with members)
  3. Review the agenda and accompanying materials prior to attending the meeting.
  4. Seek clarification of any items that are not clear.
  5. Stick to the agenda during the meeting.
  6. Determine what the exact purpose of the meeting is and decide in advance how and what to contribute.
  7. Keep replies short and to the point.
  8. Do not hesitate to comment, criticize constructively or disagree.
  9. Always be aware that the group acts on a whole, not as individual members.

Programs Committee

Chair – Micah Pettigrew

Assisted Living Facility Committee

The HOTST Assisted Living Facility Committees’ objective is to come up with a plan for opening an Assisted Living Facility with one dorm in operation.  The plan will show what it will look like, how much it will cost and will try to answer any questions that a donor might have.  The finalized report will be provided to the board on July 10th 2014, unless it is completed earlier.

The following objectives should be addressed:

  1.  How to get the Assisted Living Facility going.
  2. How to make it sustainable.
  3.  Other similar facilities need to be explored.
    1.  Visit other facilities
    2. Get pros and cons
    3. What did their 1st year of operation look like?
    4. How the overall operations will work for success.
    5. Projected profit and outcome.
    6. Praise and thank the Lord for all that He does for HOTST.

 

Vocational Training Committee

The HOTST Vocational Training Committee oversees new vocational training program  development and monitors and assesses existing programs.

The following objectives should be addressed:

Individualized Vocational Training (IVT)

a.         Recruiting and training volunteers to provide the services

b.         Policies for providing services

c.         Funding for providing services

Project Night Vocational and Social Skills Training and other programs

a.         Recruiting and training volunteers to provide the services

b.         Policies for providing services

c.         Funding for providing services

d.         Brainstorming and ideas for services

Praise and thank the Lord for all that He does for HOTST.

 

Marketing Committee

Chair- Josette Zeigler and Vicki Cleere

 

The HOTST Marketing Committee is responsible for developing and implementing a marketing plan that identifies the needs of our community and how to meet those needs with the products, services and programs of HOTST.

The following objectives should be addressed:

Marketing

a.         Develop overall strategies on how to communicate HOTST’s message to potential donors, clients and volunteers, and to generate interest in us and what we represent.

b.         Develop strategies to market fundraisers and special events.

Publicity

a.         Will involve getting the word out about HOTST and its value to the community.

b.         Will involve marketing and advertising for HOTST

Praise and thank the Lord for all that He does for HOTST.

 

Fundraising Committee 

Chair-Josette Zeigler and Vicki Cleere

The HOTST Fundraising Committee is responsible for developing and implementing a plan that will guide HOTST in seeking and securing funding from an array of outside sources.

The following objectives should be addressed:

  1. Will identify and communicate with potential donors to support the work of HOTST.
  2. Will look into how other organizations have fundraised
  3. Will develop ideas for fundraising activities
  4. Will draw up a plan detailing how fundraising targets will be met including timelines
  5. Praise and thank the Lord for all that He does for HOTST.

 

Prayer Committee

Chair-Micah Pettigrew

The HOTST Prayer Committee is responsible for diligently praying for HOTST, it’s programs, participants, staff, administrators and overall operations.

The following objectives should be addressed:

  1. Will solemnly designate 20 minutes a day, 6 times a week of specified time to praying for HOTST and it’s needs.
  2. Will do their part to make sure the prayer chain is successful and that the prayer need is construed to all.
  3. Will earnestly pray for each need of HOTST and every opportunity for HOTST.
  4. When led by the Lord, will communicate what the answers are for HOTST.
  5. Praise and thank the Lord for all of the answers.
